Beschreibung

The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is regarded as one of the most important accounts of slavery in 19th century America that has ever been written. The narrative recounts Douglass' life from early childhood growing up on a Southern Plantation to his eventual escape to his freedom to the North. Frederick Douglass writes about his experiences with his slave owners, how he became educated and his struggle to teach other slaves, and about his eventual escape from slavery. As an escaped slave, Douglass became a passionate and respected abolitionist, and served as an inspiration to many other early African Americans. Part of the Capstone Classics Series, this deluxe hardback edition of this important slave narrative is a must have for anyone interested in African American history.
